Policies and Payment


What to expect when placing your order

Placing your cake order is a very easy process!  Whether you are ordering a birthday cake, a baby shower cake, or a wedding cake, we offer a complimentary consultation and design session.  We can sit down and discuss the design, the flavor options, and the delivery date, and make sure your date is available on the calendar.  For weddings, we offer a complimentary tasting for the flavor options of your choice (up to 5).  Tastings are available for other cake types, at a charge of $10 per party (up to 3) for a 5 flavor selection. 

After the initial consultation, you will receive a written price quote and a detailed sketch of your cake design.  When you are ready to place the order, we require a 50% deposit* of the agreed-upon price, with the remainder due upon delivery of the cake. 

All the terms of your individual order will be detailed in a Purchase Contract, which will include a description of the cake, pricing, acknowledgement of deposit amounts received, delivery date and time, and a list of all the display equipment that will be included in the cake's presentation (with the applicable equipment deposits and details of the equipment's current condition).  The Purchase Contract will also outline our cancellation and payment policies in detail. 

Should you need to change or cancel your order for any reason, we ask that you call at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up or delivery date.  For cakes that serve 50 or more, the deposit is non-refundable unless special accomodations are made at the cake artist's discretion.  For all other cakes, the deposit may be refunded, as long as the order is cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery.  In most cases, a courtesy call will be made 2-3 days before delivery to confirm the order and delivery times. 

We accept local checks (from local banks), money orders, and (of course) cash.  Receipts are available for all payments and deposits. 

*For weddings, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve the wedding date, plus a regular deposit equal to 25% of the agreed-upon price, with the remainder to be paid in full no later than a week prior to the scheduled event.  Upon payment in full for the cake, the $50 save-the-date deposit will credit toward the purchase price.

In the event of a wedding cake cancellation, the 25% deposit may be refunded on a case-by-case basis depending on circumstances, but the $50 deposit to reserve the date will be forfeit.

Any non-edible display equipment included with the wedding cake (i.e. Cake Stands, Figurines, Pillars, Fountains, etc.) must be returned within 72 hours of the event, as listed in the individual Purchase Contract.  Additional deposits equal to the value of the display equipment may be required for these items, and are fully refundable upon return of the equipment, clean and in good condition.  Should you wish to purchase and retain the bride and groom topper figures or any of the other display equipment from your cake, please inform us when placing your order so that we can make accomodations.
